Today is the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. The British and German victory over the French at Waterloo decisively ended the Napoleonic Wars that had convulsed Europe for almost 25 years. Peter Hammond noted, "It ushered in almost a century of general peace throughout Western Europe, was a victory of Christianity against Humanism and marked the beginning of the Greatest Century of Missions." See Dr. Hammond's Power Point presentation: http://www.frontline.org.za

You may be (as I was) surprised to hear that there are 24 countries in Africa where English is the official language. These countries include Nigeria the largest nation in Africa, and South Sudan the newest nation. Countries which used to be part of the British Commonwealth: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana, Ghana, Gambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Even Rwanda, which used to be French speaking, has now made English the official language of their country. So, English Bibles and books can go a long way towards empowering churches in Africa.

We are grateful to Eagles Nest Ministry, in Indiana who collect Bibles and books from publishers and individuals (who gather Bibles not being used in their church or home) and send them to us in 20-foot containers each month (17 tons each time)! These include old and new, hardback and softcover, full Bibles and New Testaments, Gideon's pocket New Testaments with Psalms and Proverbs, pew Bibles and Hymn books which have been replaced at local churches, Prayer books, and other precious resources which FRONTLINE FELLOWSHIP joyfully distributes to churches throughout Africa.

Family news: Thank you for praying our daughter Lenora through the difficult decision of whether to forgo round three of the highly potent chemo routine. Her decision was not an emotional one. In consultation with her oncologist she was very conscious of your prayers. She was exempted the highly unpleasant third round and is now on a more compatible course which includes alternative natural supplements. Lenora had the second 4-hour infusion in her 2nd series of milder doses last Friday. Tomorrow, June 19 she has her third infusion. Thank you for praying!

 Yours in His grip,
