Dear Cape Town Partners in the Great Commission,

Thank you very much for your friendship, kindness, guidance, mentorship and encouragement in our personal-, church- and partnership development for the two years we were in the Strand. Praise YaHWeH Elohim!

A new and challenging growth and development phase in our Congo River mission work is before us. Relocating is never too much fun, but the prospects of our faith in Christ Jesus and yet another mission-friendly environment closer to the RSA’a Northern borders are the main motivating factors for our moving.

Leaving the scenery and the life-style of the Western Cape is difficult in it self. We prayerfully believe, however, that this decision will contribute to more effective and efficient mission results to the glory of our Lord God Almighty.

Your continued prayer, encouragement and consideration towards monthly financial partnership remain to be the most essential elements for our sustained household and ministry action.

Please pray for the People of Africa. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo so many remain unreached, difficult to reach and unattended due to the inhospitable environment, undeveloped infrastructure and many social challenges.

We prayerfully foresee that the presence of a dedicated boat on the Congo River and a Bible Depot in Kisangani will form the basis of an evangelical ministry that allows transformation Africa yeasting and already invites independent Christian community development mission projects.

Eighteen million rural people, spread out in isolated villages along 14 000 km of riverbanks, speaking 241 main tongues for which only 147 have a Bible or part of a Bible translated in their mother tongue… 2007 years after the crucifixion!

You do not have to feel guilty here where YaHWeH blesses you richly in the shadows of Table Mountain, Canal Walk, the Somerset Mall, or The Waterfront – yet the personal knowledge that you have appointed a mission field worker to the Congo River may well lift your spirit as you abide in the Vine and in the Great Commission.

While I also communicate our appreciation and prayers for blessing to you as individuals by e-mail, SMS, telephone and personal appointment, I ask you to keep this letter as a tangible token of our gratitude.

Yours sincerely, - in the joy of salvation through the redeeming blood of our risen Christ, Jesus of Nazareth,

Johan & Marí Meintjes
