Dear Friends in Christ Jesus,
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour – the only Name by which mankind and the community/ world can be saved – and the only (Biblical) principles by which peace, righteousness and joy in the Holy Spirit can take root again in a decadent and hedonistic society.
Here are some photographs of the 24-hr Community Policing Forum Crisis Tent in the parking lot of the Colonnade Retail Park, - just off Zambezi Drive, Montana, Pretoria. No, it is not the gypsies or the sangomas!
The aim is to bring Christian Fellowship and Christ in me for you, to the hurting community. To listen, to console, to encourage and to pray. Inter-Christian denominational cooperation, - for the sake of the unreached, confused, often-misled and very much hurting community, - is being encouraged.
It is of some encouragement to note that of 2000 plus registered churches in the Pretoria metropolis – the Sinoville CPF (aided by the driving force of Pastor Hardus Pretorius of Spearpoint Ministries & Harvest Community Church in Hammanskraal/ Montana), were able to gain the cooperation of four congregations to fill the first-time ever 25 shifts of 4 hours each in sponsored caravans and with furniture sponsored by Etienne Lewis furnishers.
The situation is of course also most discouraging (for me), who so much try to encourage the Body of Christ to yeast, light and salt in accordance with Ephesians 4.
Why have churches/Pastors/ Reverends/ Dominies not yet raised spiritual sons and daughters in their congregations whom they can send/ delegate/ entrust/ anoint to be Christ on the Ground for Others – and to fill these shifts with a leader, four lay counsellors and two assistants per shift?!
I am in denial – but the facts prove to me that “church” (despite 2008 years of opportunity) is not about yeasting and reaching the community and the world … If we can not practice and live the full counsel of Yahweh in a society that has known about Jesus Christ for 365 years already – what must be the darkness in e.g. parts of Asia, Zimbabwe and the DR Congo?
Thank you to my brothers and “Bussionary Friends” – (business that exists with the purpose to encourage ministry and mission), who have encouraged and prepared me in such forums as the Helderberg Transformation Network and “Jesus vir Afrika” (JVA) in the Strand/ Macassar/ Richards Bay/ Sir Lowry’s Pass Village & Grabouw area. Your tent in Macassar laid a foundation in my mind and prepared me for joining this initiative as a sweeper and coffee steward.
Accused of ‘Post Modernism” we may stand (by those camping where once they had successes and where once the brook flowed) – but we know the community and the world need to be touched by Christ in me and you, for so many others. This requires faith in action and doers of the Word. (Spiritually mature, equipped, anointed and sent members and laymen of the church.)
We can no longer continue to pretend that half an evangelism, and only part of the full counsel of God, and only part of the five-fold ministry can achieve what Jesus told us to do in Matthew 24:14, John 15: 15-17, and His “famous last & important words” of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
May Yahweh have mercy upon us and open our spiritual and physical eyes and ears. May we very soon become what Jesus prayed about for each one of us in John 17!
Yours sincerely, - in the joy of salvation,
