What a privilege to be of service to our King!

Once again, after much prayer and preparation we as a team set out in obedience to the Great Commission as given by Christ Jesus in Matthew 28 : 18-20; …"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

FOCUS

Evangelize – Train – Equip – Serve

Zimbabwe

David our field worker in that region would concentrate on:

  • Ministry and Distribution of ‘Boxes of Love’ to needy pensioners
  • Build up and expand Network of capable and reliable Church Leaders
  • Teaching at Leaders Conferences accompanied by the distribution of relevant literature.

Zimbabwe although seeming to recuperate from a national disaster under Mugabe’s Regime and now a co-working arrangement with Morgan Tsvangirai, is but a smoke screen. While shops have food and clothing on the shelves, it is only those who have access to US Dollars that can afford to patronize these stores. The overwhelming majority (+- 80%) of the population live in extreme poverty. Free Market system is nowhere, with the government getting bigger and stronger and more people relying on hand/bail outs. While in Zimbabwe reports came in from Harare that the church there had extensively advertised in the press that a prayer meeting was to be held to pray for peace and stability that Saturday. While praying police attacked these innocent folk with teargas and batons, then arrested many of the pastors present and attempted to intimidate them into admission of guilt. The folk refused to admit guilt and were later released.

The folk in Zimbabwe continue to live in fear and intimidation. It seems that since the Islamic Revolution in the North of Africa, Mugabe and his thugs have even become more suspicious. It is shameful that the police would attack a peaceful prayer meeting and beat up innocent people. It was the late President Ronald Reagan who stated that “Evil Is Powerless If the Good Are Unafraid.” Unfortunately, the tyrant Mugabe, a Communist, has since the Matabeleland Massacre in the 80’s through his military and police apparatus continued to suppress the peoples of Zimbabwe.

Despite the above, David successfully completed his mission in all areas in Zimbabwe and safely returned to South Africa.

We thank God for His Word and know that what He begins He will complete.

We will continue, despite all opposition to fulfil the Great Commission working with and alongside those who are in agreement.

ZAMBIA

With The Fish Eagle as its Emblem, Zambia has shown itself in the 20 years of Independence from Communism under Kenneth Kaunda to be the leading country in the Region, who through sustained commitment, a return to hard work and a determination to apply Biblical Principles to her governance of her peoples, a success.

For decades, Frontline Fellowship has consistently been faithfully working alongside the Church in Zambia. This mission trip was thus a disciplined continuation in obedience to Gods call.

Our Focus, as always was on Evangelizing – Training – Equipping and Serving.

Peter Hammond would be the main speaker at the Reformation and Revival Conference in Lusaka later that month while I and the team would be working in the Western Province amongst the least Reached/Unreached peoples. We, at a later stage would join up with Peter in Lusaka.

In preparation for this work more than 2 tonnes of material was prepositioned.

Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me….’ Matthew 25:34-46

There is no doubt, that when taking the Gospel to the poor and needy, faith without works is dead. Jonas is an old man, 87 years of age, who we met and blessed with a wheel chair on our last trip to Lukulu.

While abuse of the elderly in civilization is frowned upon and rare, out in the remote areas of Africa it is not uncommon for the folk to let the elderly die as they become a burden on society. Part of our mission thus in Lukulu was to continue to bless Jonas with clothing, a mattress, blankets and a waterproof groundcover. We further contributed financially towards the building of a ‘hut’ for both him and his elderly sister, which we will follow up on our next mission.

Training (Teaching) and Equipping is an integral part of the Great Commission. Paul also teaches us that we are to; “Entrust these things to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2 Timothy 2:2

We thus taught and equipped the leaders throughout the Western Province as well as in the Central Province in Towns and Villages such as Chongwe, Kabwe, Kabompo, Luvuzi, Kamalende …., to name but a few. Bibles in the various languages was donated to key leaders, literature by recognized writers such as Mark Cahill, Robert McNeill, David Noble and Study Material by Dr. Peter Hammond and the late Dr James Kennedy. Along with this, DVDs/CDs/MP3s and Gospel Outreach Material was strategically distributed amongst the leaders to ensure a measurable result in the execution of the mandate by the leaders.

Part of my personal mandate is to disciple the young men and women who accompany me on these missions trips. With me were Mike and John (JJ). Both these young men have previously been in the field with me and both accomplished their given tasks and responsibilities well. When discipling there comes a time when you give the disciples the opportunity to practice what they have witnessed through your actions and what they have been taught. We pray for God, by His Spirit to lead them through the Word into all truth, to pray for the sick for Healing, for Wisdom and Knowledge.

Witnessing and Evangelism took place, under the trees, at water holes, alongside the rivers, in buildings and in the towns and cities. The Bible is clear we are even to preach from the roof tops!

With enthusiasm, the Word and the anointing of God’s Holy Spirit both Mike and JJ excelled. Many responded positively to the preaching of the Word. Questions were answered from the Bible; those who were Christians now understood the Word more clearly. In the remote areas there is much lies and deceptions brought on by many cults such as the New Apostolic Church, Jehovah Witnesses etc.

Another form of sharing the Gospel is through showing of the Jesus Film in the local language. Once you have ascertained that the Good News has already come to the people, then watering and harvesting needs to take place. What a fantastic opportunity to share the Message of Hope using visual media. In many cases this would be the first time these folk experience a movie!!!!

Equipped with an inverter in the vehicle to handle the electrical demand, we proceeded to use this ‘tool’ to great effect. In the villages where we showed the Jesus Film, we had close on to 500 folk who responded positively to the challenge to lay down their old lives and to take up a new walk in the acceptance of Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour of their lives.

Left: The team busy preparing for the evening Evangelism using the Jesus Film in the language of the Lozi People. The location is in a plain which is usually filled with insects, mainly mosquitoes. We prayed for a mosquito free night and God gave us one.

After seven intense weeks of Outreach we returned to South Africa via Namibia.

En-route through Namibia we visited the Etosha Game Park. Although Namibia had good rains and most of the Big 5 was out of site, we were blessed to see a Leopard Cub, Rhino, Giraffe and plenty of Deer.

Thank you to all our support for your faithfulness in your support to this work may God richly bless you as you seek His face and walk according to His Word in Spirit and in truth.
