Prayer & Praise Update
PRAYER AND PUBLICATIONS
PRAYER AND PUBLICATIONS
The hunger for literature in Africa in insatiable. We all get quite a good gym workout moving tons of books, Bibles, Gospels and tracts from the printer into our storeroom, from the storeroom into vehicles, to the mail, to other missions, and to the field.
From Zambia to Sudan, from Ghana to Kenya, from Swaziland to Malawi, from Zambia to the Congo, pastors, teachers, chaplains and evangelists urge us for more Bibles, Bible teaching books, Gospel booklets, evangelistic tracts, textbooks, prayer books, hymn books, evangelistic training manuals, and much, much more. It is a continual logistical challenge producing, printing, importing, delivering and distributing enough literature needed to schools, churches, mission bases, Bible colleges, and evangelistic ministries throughout Africa.
GOSPEL AMMUNITION
We praise God for our good friends in World Missionary Press who supply us with literally tons of Gospel booklets in over a hundred languages. Since Frontline Fellowship began in 1982, World Missionary Press Gospel booklets have always been a key part of every Frontline mission. These compact, lightweight Scripture booklets provide the spiritual ammunition we need in our outreaches in market places, at bus stops, railway stations, taxi ranks, door-to-door in townships, in prisons, army bases, schools and refugee camps.
LIBRARY DONATIONS
We are also very grateful for friends and authors who have donated boxes of high quality Christian books for us to carefully, prayerfully and strategically donate to Bible college libraries and Christian schools as far afield as Zambia, Sudan and Nigeria.
BIBLES FOR AFRICA
We have also had the privilege of distributing literally hundreds of thousands of Bibles and New Testaments in over 50 languages in restricted access areas, to persecuted churches.
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FOR AFRICA
However, another key part of our literature ministry in Africa has been producing Leadership Training books specially designed for Africa. We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response to our Biblical Principles For Africa. By God’s Grace, all ten thousand copies of our first edition of Biblical Principles for Africa have been sold out or distributed throughout Africa. About four thousand were sold in South Africa and overseas, and six thousand freely distributed to pastors, teachers, chaplains and government leaders in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Nigeria, Sudan, and elsewhere. The French edition has already gone through two revisions and printings, and very few of those over four thousand copies are left in stock. Even the presidents of Zambia and Malawi have written to thank us for the Biblical Principles For Africa. Every member of parliament in Zambia and Malawi were given copies of BPFA. And we continue to receive more and more requests for Biblical Principles For Africa. So, we have gone through and revised, added two new chapters, updated the Key Contacts lists, Resources, etc and we are ready to print the second edition of Biblical Principles For Africa.
DISCIPLESHIP HANDBOOK
We have also had a tremendous response to the Discipleship Handbook. The thousands we sold in South Africa and America, helped fund the free distribution of the other thousands to pastors, chaplains, teachers and evangelists who attended our Great Commission Conferences and Biblical Worldview Seminars in Zambia, Nigeria, Sudan and Malawi. The demand for the Discipleship Handbook has only increased. Now we are also needing to revise, expand and reprint the Discipleship Handbook.
SLAVERY, TERRORISM AND ISLAM
Another key frontline book which we are completely out of stock of is: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam – The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat. We have been overwhelmed with the demand for this history book. Leaders from all over Africa have been pleading with us for more copies, so this book is also being revised, expanded and reprinted.
LIBRARIES FOR PASTORS
Literature is in many ways the life-blood of our mission. We try to give a free book to each pastor, teacher, chaplain or evangelist who attends any of our Leadership Training courses. We also have our Libraries For Pastor’s programme where pastors in Africa can write to us for a free book, and once they send us a suitable book report, we will supply the next title. In this way we are helping to carefully, prayerfully and strategically build up library resources for rural pastors.
WILLIAM CAREY BIBLE INSTITUTE
Then, through our William Carey Bible Institute we are donating reference books to Bible college libraries, and textbooks for their students.
BOOKS IN THE PIPELINE
This is where we need more prayer. Frontline Fellowship has a number of books ready for printing, including the new: Power of Prayer Handbook and Reforming Our Families. Our literature ministry is non-profit. Neither I, nor any of our authors, have taken royalties or received any payment whatsoever for the books we’ve written. All books and CDs sold help finance the many tens of thousands of books that we donate to needy schools, colleges and churches throughout Africa.
BOOKS FUEL FIELD TRIPS
The books that we have sold on speaking tours in America and Europe have literally put fuel in the tanks of our field vehicles and made possible book and Bible distribution all the way from Zimbabwe to Sudan.

“The Lord gave the Word; great was the company of those who proclaimed it.” Psalm 68:11
THE POWER OF THE PRINTED PAGE
The written word can go where and when the human voice cannot.
Literature is the most cost effective way of proclaiming the Gospel.
It has no passport or visa problems.
It knows no fear.
It never loses its temper.
It never tires.
It is never discouraged.
It can tell its story over and over again.
It can be received, read and studied in secret.
It speaks without an accent.
It never compromises.
The written word is more permanent than the human voice.
It stays and continues working when the missionary goes home.
A drop of ink may make a million think!
