Pray for Charl|

Charl van Wyk (Jan 2007)

Book
"In fact, I feel his guiding spirit was right there with Mr. Van Wyk in his father's church, guiding the righteous to take revenge on the usurping non-believers. That is why I was so disappointed with this book. While Mr. Van Wyk's initial effort was valiant and Christ-like, I cannot believe he was willing to forgive his attackers. That whole Truth and Reconciliation thing, what a cowardly act! Jesus wept." - Anonymous review on "Shooting Back".

One cannot always expect great reviews on your book, but this poor reviewer does not understand  that we as believers have the incredible ministry of grace that our Lord has tasked us with to just give a small glimpse of the grace He has shown to us.  The ministry of Justice is the domain of a Godly civil authority, but ultimately the domain of God.

Shooting Back has, on occasion, made it to be No 1 on the
World Net Daily top sellers list.  You can buy a copy at: "Shooting Back"

I've been blessed with some great radio interviews in the USA regarding the book.

Salt and Light
Our radio programme on
www.104fm.org.za every Tuesday at 9pm GMT +2 is going very well.  We have recently concentrated on the pro-life issue by interviewing a crisis pregnancy counsellor and Cheryllyn Dudley (the only pro-life Member of Parliament on the Parliamentary Health Portfolio Committee), as well as my colleague Taryn and director Peter.

On Sanctity Life Sunday, 28 January, all churches are encouraged to observe a solemn and serious time of repentance and prayer for the national sin of abortion.

On 1 February our ministry will host a prayer vigil outside Parliament for the National Day of Repentance in commemoration of the innocent who have lost their lives due to 10 years of legal abortion-on-demand in SA.

Congo
Lord willing, I'll be leading a group of Christian businessmen to minister in the Congo (Democratic Republic).  The Muslims evangelise Africa by starting businesses and employing the local population, who later take on the faith of their employer; yet we African Christians have a short-sighted approach to winning families to Christ in the world of business and finance.  Please pray for this outreach.

Frontline Fellowship is purchasing bicycles for the pastors in the Congo.  Pastors of the Come and See Church in Eastern Congo will soon have bicycles to enhance their ministry.  Many have multiple congregations to oversee.  They are the colleagues of Ps Mungambo who, in 2001, was buried alive by rebel forces when his congregation refused to stop praying after being accused by the rebels of prayers which caused the war effort to turn against the rebels.

Should you like to partner with us in enhancing the ministry of Congolese pastors with bikes, please make a donation to Frontline or ITMI designated "Bikes and Bibles Project".  (Contact details below)

Family
John-Marc (4) was intrigued when Sonja asked him to keep quiet whilst she was driving because an old friend, John, was being interviewed on radio.

John-Marc looked at the radio and asked, "How did he get in there?"

Anya (10 months) is crawling all over, which keeps us pretty fit.  Roberta is turning 10 in February and Jason has just turned 6.

US Visit
Joseph Farah, the Founder of World Net Daily (WND), has invited me to attend the WND News Expo 2007 on 11 and 12 May 2007.  This is a very large conference of news people at which the best selling author, Ann Coulter, will be a guest speaker.  I'd really like Sonja to join me for a week in the US.  Yes, I know she might never want to come back to Africa, but the opportunity of enjoying the expo together overrides the risk.

I'll be available to give report backs on our mission work in Africa or give testimony as recorded in my book.  Any opportunities at churches, associations or radio will be wonderful to spread the Gospel.  For appointments 15 - 27 May 2007 please call Debbie at ITMI 1-888-918-4100."For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."  2 Timothy 1:7

Yours in His service,

Charl van Wyk
