"..I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world." Rom 1:8
Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
US Visit
Sonja and I were taking our time relaxing as we went to the Cape Town Airport to fly to the United States. I was explaining to her on the way how nice it was to be relaxed and not having to rush until, when we got there, we found out that we had already missed our flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg. I had misread the ticket and taken the expected time of arrival in Johannesburg as the expected time of departure from Cape Town. Needless to say, we arrived in Johannesburg minutes before we had to board our plane to Washington, DC.
Thanks to all who prayed us through US Immigration - they took longer with us than any other people but by God's grace we were very happy to get into the USA.
Shooting Back
WorldNetDaily is in the process of producing a DVD that will be sold alongside my book, Shooting Back. Sonja and I had hours of filmed interviews and it was a privilege to work with Joseph Farah, the Founder and CEO of WorldNetDaily, and Larry Pratt, Executive Director of Gun Owners of America.
I did around 27 radio programmes whilst in the USA, organised by an excellent team appointed by WorldNetDaily - 15 interviews in three days, whilst I was kindly hosted at the offices of Gun Owners of America - I'm still busy with more interviews whilst back in South Africa. These are always a great opportunity for the Gospel. One radio host thanked me for speaking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ because he can't get away with it on his secular station, but hey, interviewees can get away with it!
Award
I was honoured to receive a certificate and medal from the Possenti Society. The patron of the Society, St. Gabriel Possenti, was a Catholic seminarian who saved villagers of Isola del Gran Sasso, Italy from a terrorising gang of renegade soldiers in 1860 with a striking, one-shot, lizard-slaying demonstration of handgun marksmanship. We had a wonderful evening meal with the directors and their wives.
FrontPage Interview
This interview appears to have sparked quite an interest in my book.
Travel
Larry Pratt kindly loaned us his car to visit friends and supporters in Harrisonburg, VA and Ballston Spa, NY. The roads were quite scary, first of all driving on the "wrong side" of the road and second of all the speeds at which the trucks travel are quite frightening.
We had a wonderful time with friends, family and supporters. Sonja thoroughly enjoyed her first visit to the USA.
Sonja's sister, Riana, with the support of our parents, looked after our children, Roberta (10), Jason (6), John-Marc (4) and Anya (1), while we were away. We returned to well fed, healthy and disciplined children.
So many friends blessed us in so many ways, we cannot even begin to thank each of you in this short email. We could not have wished for a better time than we had in the US, what a blessed and free nation it is.
Great Commission Course
At Frontline Fellowship we are now preparing, for our Great Commission Course, which runs from 29 June - 18 July and incorporates our Biblical Worldview Summit - attendees are arriving from all over the world to come for the first week of the Biblical Worldview Summit in Franschhoek, after which we will continue with the Great Commission Course - further training for those who want to get involved in missions on a full-time basis.
Thank you for your support of our work, we can't do our mission work without God's blessing and your involvement.
Yours in His service
Charl van Wyk
PS I've added you to my email list of friends either because you asked me to or because we've crossed paths - let me know if you'd like to be removed.
