Frontline Newsletter: Bible College Launched in Zambia

COVENANT COLLEGE, ZAMBIA is now in operation. Frontline Fellowship missionary Rev. David Fraser moved his family up to our mission base in Zambia at the end of December for the purpose of establishing a Bible College. Within less than 3 months, despite enormous obstacles, accidents, shortages, complications and sicknesses, David was able to open Covenant College on 13 March.

The Frontline mission base and Bible College are in the very needy and neglected Eastern Province of Zambia. There are no other Protestant mission bases or Bible Colleges in the region and the whole area has been targeted by Islamic Propagation agencies.

Rev Fraser Reports:

"We already have 20 men eagerly studying Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, Practical Theology, Church History and Exegesis. Of course we face many difficulties. Some students walk 30 to 50 km each day to attend the lectures. Not a week passes without students facing sickness or death in their families, bereavements and other crisis. Life expectancy here is much lower than in the Western world. One poor father came to our door asking us to transport two of his children who had died, home from the mortuary! Malaria is endemic as are other parasitic and water borne diseases.

However it is a joy to be preparing young men of such potential. African Careys and Spurgeons may be in our hands! We see the Lord has set Zambia in a central location among the nations of Africa and given it a Christian government. All around we see massive problems where Satan holds sway. There is a way you can participate in this great work of our time. Training pastors in the third world has been called the greatest priority of missions today. We cannot do it alone but will rejoice to have your help in building something of lasting value for the Kingdom of God."

Covenant College would welcome book donations for it’s library; supporters and volunteers to help in building and furnishing the lecture rooms, hostels and chapel; and guest lecturers to assist in the training of these pastors and evangelists.
