Venda - The Land of the Elephant

Earlier this year, Venda was facing chaos. Over 140 people were hacked to pieces, “necklaced” or burnt to death by communist mobs during the first weeks of March. Rampaging, looting mobs were running through the streets with heads on poles. Finally the Venda Defence Force had to step in and take control of the country. They replaced the one party government with a military council, instituted investigations against corruption, and restored law and order in Venda.

During recent speaking engagements and literature outreaches in Venda, Frontline Fellowship has experienced a wonderful openness to the Gospel. There are a high percentage of dedicated Christians amongst the Venda Defence Force and a sincere desire to know God’s Word and to do His Will. Pray for this strategic republic which still faces attacks from ANC terrorists from Zimbabwe and communist subversion from within.
